The third phase of the journey took me through an unforgettable route from Ambala to Dehradun. The usual drive goes through Yamunanagar via Saharanpur to Dehradun, but I, on suggestion from my cousin drove from Ambala to Narayangarh going further to Kala Aamb. The next town enroute was Paunta Sahib, famous for its Sikh temple.
The route was enchanting with green forests, absolutely quiet track of dirt road at some places, a river flowing next to the road and trees laden with mangoes all along. All this may sound like a fairy dream, but the pictures below will show. Herbertpur is a small town just before the river crossing into Dehradun through the Agrasen Gate. From Dehradun, it was a 90 minutes drive uphill on serpentine road to reach the destination - Mussoorie.
