"What is so funny?" This question I must have heard hundreds of times in the past, but as I try to recall, most of the times it was when I was in school. As age crept up, the uncontrolled laughter, became a soundless laugh, then a smile and now even that seems an effort sometimes. I don't know whether it is because the jokes have dried up or they have lost their funniness. Or is it because humor is dying a slow death. When was the last time you laughed, really laughed? Was it a harmless act, or was it a cruel smirk at some one else's cost.
I get up each morning thanking God for allowing me another day to live. Today I wondered whether I was living it. I looked through the yesterday and found that I had frowned often, stared and glared at passing drivers while driving, replied in a monotone to many people, and had walked with a parkinson like facies. The only time I had smiled was when I had been alone in my room listening to a song which had brought back old memories.
People do not have much to talk to each other these days. I recently met someone and asked whether he knew about the passing away of a dear one. The reply was,"Yes, I saw the status message." In an age when we twitter and click so much, it is difficult to even make a polite conversation sitting next to someone on a bus or a car.
We need to talk more often, You need to laugh more often... Let us start with a smile right now.
"WOW,BANG ON!"
